RD Engineering Associates were appointed to undertake the design of new foundations for large commercial office structure within an existing manufacturing production facility.
The scope of works required a detailed review of existing as-built information, along with liaising with the structural steelwork constructor to ensure that the proposed foundations did not clash with existing foundations and services.
During the design of the foundations, it was determined that R.C Pad foundations were not feasible to a low allowable bearing pressure and high loads. As such we determined that piled foundations were the preferred solution to reduce the extent of excavations works on the project.
We developed a foundation solution capable of safely transferring the loads from the new office structure to ground, with health and safety and the forefront of our design
Our foundation design ensure that the new mezzanine can be safely supported while integrating the proposed structure within the existing building.
