What a couple of months it’s been, a complete rollercoaster for sure! 🎢

New babies, sick days, huge letdowns, glorious sunshine, new team members, and as always, plenty of quality work completed. 💪

From parks to pubs, and from fencing, patios and drainage to tree work, planting, resin (with an audience on the bar walls), pergolas and stump grinding …no two days are ever the same at Toby H Johnson Ltd. 🌳🪓.

We got through it all with help from some local friends along the way too. After all, that’s what makes the world go round.

We even managed to squeeze in a fantastic team day at the Great Yorkshire Show! 🍻

We’re a York-based landscaping company looking to build a network of experienced self-employed landscapers to work alongside us on our larger projects throughout the year.

Whether you’re a sole trader looking to fill the odd gap in your diary or part of a small landscaping team wanting additional work, we’ve got you covered. From one-off days to two-week projects, we cater for everything.

🗓️ Our diary typically runs Monday to Saturday, giving you plenty of opportunities to pick up work that suits your availability.⏰ Typical working hours are 7:30am – 4:30pm, in all weathers.

📍 Full-Time | 💷 Up to £44,000 | 🚗 Driving Licence Essential

We’re looking for an experienced Landscaper to join our hardworking, friendly team. Immediate start available, but we’re happy to wait for the right person.

Monday to Friday – 5 days a week, with every day starting and finishing at our rural yard, so a full driving licence is essential.

We’re looking for someone with experience in:
✅ Fencing
✅ Paving
✅ Decking
✅ Groundworks & general landscaping

You must be:
✔ Reliable & hardworking
✔ Able to work independently and solve problems
✔ Professional with clients and suppliers
✔ Happy to work outdoors in all weathers

💷 What we offer:
• Salary up to £44,000 (depending on experience)
• Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate
• Pension
• 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) – negotiable
• Fuel allowance – negotiable
• Uniform provided
• On-site parking
• Team days out & work excursions

⚠️ This is a physically demanding role, working around 8–9 hours a day outdoors in all weathers. We work hard, take pride in what we do, and reward people who do the same. If you’re looking for an easy ride, this probably isn’t the job for you.

Looking for a hands-on summer job that keeps you active and outside? Join Toby H Johnson Ltd and be part of a hardworking, close-knit team.

We’re on the lookout for a Temporary Grounds Maintenance Worker to support across all areas of the business. No two days are the same — you’ll get involved in:

* Grass cutting
* General labouring
* Tree surgery ground work

This role is physical and outdoors in all weather, so it’s not for the faint-hearted. But if you enjoy grafting, being outside, and seeing the results of your work, you’ll find it incredibly rewarding.
