Shou Sugi Ban, but lighter.
For Sam’s home office, the brief was simple: create a dedicated workspace away from the main house, with the same premium character as our signature garden rooms.
Sam loved the durability, texture and depth of traditional Shou Sugi Ban cladding, but wanted the finish to feel a little lighter and warmer.
So we adapted it.
The result is a softer take on one of our favourite finishes, while still keeping the rich grain, natural variation and architectural feel that makes Shou Sugi Ban so distinctive.

A carefully considered top overhang that adds depth to the front elevation and gives the building a stronger, more architectural profile.
Limewash Interior + Letterbox Window
Soft limewash walls create a calm, natural interior, paired with a slim aluminium letterbox window to introduce light while keeping the space feeling private and refined.
Engineered Oak Flooring
Warm engineered oak flooring finished with crisp white skirting, creating a clean, timeless base that complements the softer tones throughout the interior.
