About Us
Carter Bespoke Joinery is a busy, growing artisan workshop based in Yeadon, West Yorkshire. We specialise in crafting high-end, handmade kitchens, in-frame cabinetry, luxury wardrobes, and architectural media walls. We pride ourselves on exceptional attention to detail from workshop floor to final finish, and we are looking for an experienced Paint Sprayer to take charge of our finishing department.
The Role
We are seeking a skilled, hands-on Paint Sprayer with a proven background in fine finishing for bespoke furniture and architectural joinery. Working within our dedicated spray booth, you will be responsible for prepping, priming, painting, and lacquering high-end timber, MDF, and veneered components to a flawless, showroom-standard finish.
Key Responsibilities
Operating and maintaining professional spray equipment within our dedicated workshop spray booth.
Preparing surfaces through sanding, filling, sealing, and priming various wood and sheet materials.
Applying high-quality topcoats, paints, stains, and lacquers (including matching custom colour samples).
Conducting rigorous quality control checks on all finished pieces to catch imperfections before assembly or delivery.
Managing paint mixing, inventory, equipment upkeep, and general housekeeping of the spray shop.
Candidate Requirements
Demonstrated professional experience spray finishing bespoke furniture, kitchens, or high-end architectural joinery.
Strong working knowledge of various coatings (lacquers, primers, polyurethanes, and water/solvent-based paints).
Meticulous eye for detail and an uncompromising standard of finish.
Ability to troubleshoot finishes, polish, and rectify any surface flaws independently.
A proactive work ethic and ability to work well within a tight-knit workshop team.
What We Offer
Competitive salary aligned with your experience (£31,000 – £38,000 per year).
Stable, permanent workshop hours.
The opportunity to work on stunning, custom-made projects where quality matters more than mass production.
A friendly, supportive environment in a growing local business.
