A well designed garden should mean you only need a gardener to maintain borders and plants once a season, removing the monthly cost of a gardener long term. I offer ongoing support to all my clients whether it is practical maintenance or advice. I do all my work myself, from design to planting. My team work alongside me providing carpentry, fencing, patio and building work.

And let there be rain! 🌧️

That delicious earthy smell after rain is called petrichor.

Overnight the grass is greener and plant stems are standing so upright, you can almost hear their sigh of relief!

But what does the rain actually mean for gardeners?

After such a long drought, the topsoil might be wet, but it’ll take time for that water to permeate down to the roots.

We might get a trowel in the ground… but a spade?

It’s tempting to rush out and buy all those lovely autumn plants, but check your ground first.

For now, let the garden soak it up!
