Rosa Lady of the Lake has started flowering. Second year planted. No flowers first year. This year struggled in the heatwave but pulled through to create this absolute cracker on a dull day in October.
The Fruit of the God's or Gardeners Breakfast. I had to try to see if they were ripe before picking a few for the client and a few for a snack. Love β€οΈ figs.
The pool border has really been challenged in the heat π₯΅ and drought this year. Strulch has helped out the enormous cracks in the soil are still there. The Erigeron karvinskianus is still looking fabulous π as is the Salvia PurpleLips and Penstemon Plum Jerkum π
This Clematis montana Marjorie is immense. She just goes and goes! I've used her to cover the upper arch of this gateway, but she is fairly insistent on coming through the gate. It doesn't seem at all fussed that the gate is in use.
The last two pictures are beetle larvae in the soil today. There was a pocket of them under a dead plant. Three guesses for what caused the death. These blinking chafer beetles attacked a poorly Hydrangea paniculata and kept chewing until it popped off. I picked them all out and put them for the birds as retribution for my clients plant. π© π© π© π© s.
Relocation planting today, using Mycorrhizal Fungi from Empathy Rootgrow to give the best start for the plants. Hopefully, they'll be settled in by the time.all the real cold π₯Ά weather starts.
All pictures πΈ my own.
