Yesterday we took a quick trip over to Chiddingstone to give a hand with a MEWP, dealing with a heavily diseased ash tree which was deemed unsafe to climb. 🌳

The tree was not only affected by ash dieback, but also had multiple Shaggy Brackets (Inonotus hispidus) visible on the stem. This type of fungi causes white rot within the heartwood, which can significantly reduce the stability of the tree. ⛈️

We removed all of the tree’s foliage and left it at a safe height, commonly known as a monolith, ready for habitat creation. 🐦

A great example of how, where appropriate, retaining a standing deadwood feature can provide valuable habitat rather than removing the tree entirely. 🪾

A big thanks to Eli for having us. 👌

A couple of weeks back, we were called to get a field ready for retirement grass livery. 🐎

This included clearing years of built-up vegetation from the existing hardstanding, fencing any gaps around the area, installing a new gate and spreading out a new chalk pad ready for us to move the field shelter onto. 🚜

A good bit of preparation to get the field ready for its new use. 👌

If you’re looking to get your land, fields or equestrian facilities prepared, get in touch. We are horse owners ourselves, so we understand the importance of creating spaces that work well for both you and your horses. 🐴

A couple of weeks ago we undertook our yearly hedge cut on this driveway for one of our repeat clients. 🌿

Another job ticked off for a client we’ve worked with for a number of years, keeping the driveway looking neat and tidy. ✂️

If your hedges are in need of a trim, we’d be delighted to help. At Weald Rural Services, we undertake hedge cutting and vegetation management across domestic, agricultural, equestrian and commercial settings.

Last week we gave a hand with a conifer hedge removal in Eastbourne. 🌳

As always, the right kit and the right lads make jobs like this an absolute breeze! It’s an absolute pleasure to get out and support other businesses and close friends. Josh’s attention to detail and customer care is outstanding and I’ll always recommend him. 💪

We had a Forst TR8 on hand to deal with all the arisings, alongside Bandit’s flagship SG40 stump grinder to take care of the stumps. ⚙️

A couple of weeks ago, we were working at a large domestic property in Peasmarsh, Guildford, clearing failed willow trees that had fallen into a major drainage ditch. 🌳

Jobs like this really highlight the value of having the right team and the right equipment, allowing us to complete the work safely and efficiently. 🔧

If you’re planning tree maintenance or a similar project, we’d be delighted to help. At Weald Rural Services, we undertake everything from small garden improvements to large-scale forestry and land management projects across agricultural, equestrian, commercial and domestic settings. 🌿

A couple of weeks ago on a very rainy day we were tasked with dismantling and re erecting a field shelter for an ongoing client of ours. 🌧️

The team smashed this out of the park considering the mud and rain! 🐴

If you’re planning something similar, we’d be delighted to help. At Weald Rural Services, we undertake projects ranging from small garden improvements to larger specialist groundworks across agricultural, equestrian, and commercial settings. ✍️

This week we prepared an area of ground ready for grass seeding in the autumn. 🍂

We teamed up with who completed the initial tree and stump removal. 👏

We utilised a pedestrian power harrow to break up the topsoil and bring the debris to the surface ready to be raked and any green waste removed. 🌱

We recently carried out an entire pre season grounds maintenance package for the 1st Shorne Scout Hut 🌱

This included a complete cutback and shape of all hedges on site, cut the grass, remove any leaf debris and remove some fallen trees resting on fencing. 🌳

Here at Weald Rural Services we really believe in enabling the younger generation through scouting, having benefited from the scouting association it’s nice to give back and ensure that the hut is looking tip top. ⚜️
