I am Matthew Holt, Master Thatcher, and this page is about the thatching work I have carried out, and continue to carry out, on a daily basis. I was born and raised in Hampshire, and since leaving school in the late 1970's, I have gained over 35 years experience, working extensively throughout Hampshire + West Sussex and the surrounding counties, and even as far afield as South Carolina.

I carry out all kinds of thatching projects including complete re-builds, new builds, complete re-thatch's, re-ridging, patching and repairs. I work in Long Straw, Combed Wheat Reed and Water Reed materials. I carry out inspections and provide quotes free of charge. I am very hands on and am present on site throughout the length of the project, preferring not to employ a group of sub contractors to carry out my work and feel I provide a professional, knowledgeable and friendly service.
