Nice bit of scribing today
First attempt using nothing more than an offcut of wood to mark the shape.

One cut with the circular saw and it sat flush, first time.

Jobs like this remind me why I love what I do.

It's not about rushing. It's about taking your time and getting it right.

Thought we'd do something a bit different and show you how much the van has changed since the beginning of the week.

It's still got a long way to go, but every day it's starting to feel a bit more like home, it's nice and toasty in here now.

It's been nice getting Oliver involved as well and hearing what he thinks of it all.

Can't wait to see how this van comes together over the next couple of months.

Day 2 of the insulation progress.
Managed to fill all the cavities today, decided to add a bit more sound deadening, and made a start insulating above the cab.

I didn't realise how much more awkward a Transit is compared to my last camper van. My old Luton was so much easier to insulate and board.

Slowly getting there though. One job at a time. Looking forward to seeing it all come together.

Van Build Update 🚐

Thought I'd give you a little update on how the van build is coming along because I've actually made a fair bit of progress.

The wheel arches are completely covered, and I've done around 30% of the side panels. You don't actually need to cover every single bit of metal, it's more about stopping the larger panels from vibrating.

I've also started sorting the insulation. I'm using 5mm XPS as a thermal break against the metal, then I'll be using PIR board where it fits on the flatter sections and recycled PET insulation in all the awkward cavities and curved areas.

That should keep it nice and warm without trapping loads of moisture.

The layout's finally decided as well. I'm having a fixed bed across the back of the van with a big garage underneath, so I'll have loads of storage for camping gear, tools and everything else while still keeping the living area nice and open.

I've also got an under sink water filter going in, so I'll have filtered drinking water straight from the tap, which I'm really looking forward to.

Still plenty left to do though. I've got to finish the insulation, get all the walls lined, sort the electrics, fit the kitchen, install the water system and then build the bed and storage.

It's definitely starting to feel like a camper now instead of just a white van, so I'm looking forward to getting stuck into the next stage.

Just a quick update because I think my last few videos caused a bit of confusion.
Bowler Bespoke isn't going anywhere.
I'm simply choosing a different way of living while continuing to build bespoke pieces and work with reclaimed wood.
Thank you to everyone who's supported me so far. It genuinely means a lot, and I'm excited for this next chapter.

As I'm simplifying my life, I've decided to sell everything I've created over the years.

That includes my artwork, furniture and one-off bespoke pieces.

As I'm downsizing and changing my lifestyle, I won't be able to make use of any of this anymore.

There's pallets, oak, mahogany and various other bits of timber that I'd much rather see put to good use than go to waste.

I just wanted to let everyone know...
I'm having a bit of a lifestyle change.
I've realised I don't want loads of stuff anymore.
So over the next week or so, I'll be putting videos up of everything I've got for sale.
That includes my creations, my paintings and a few other bits.
I just need it all gone now.
I'm trying to simplify my life and work towards the life I actually want.
If there's anything you've seen over the years that you've always liked, now's the time to get in touch because once it's gone, it's gone.

Flatpack has its place, but it was never what inspired me to become a joiner.

I love creating things that you simply can't buy off a shelf.

From bespoke playhouses and treehouses to loft beds, shelving, furniture, garden structures and reclaimed wood features, every project is built by hand to suit the space, the family and the vision.

I don't aim to be the cheapest. I aim to build something that you'll still be proud of years for years to come.
