🍻 A well-earned retirement drink for Ken!

Last night we finally got the chance to take Ken out for a few retirement drinks after he officially hung up his boots last Thursday.

After an incredible 41 years at Rowswood Timber, we thought we’d better buy him a Coke or two… although after 41 years, technically we probably owe him quite a few! 😂🍺

A massive thank you to everyone who called in for a drink and a chat and helped us give him a good send-off.

Ken has been a huge part of Rowswood for over four decades and it’s definitely going to be strange not having him around.

Enjoy the retirement, Ken, no alarm clocks, no timber, just enjoy what ever you choose to do.

CLOSED TODAY – BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY

Unfortunately, due to the disruption and traffic caused by Creamfields, we’ve made the decision to close Rowswood Timber today.

In previous years we’ve stayed open, but the traffic restrictions and difficulty getting to us have such a big impact on the business that it simply doesn’t make sense this year.

We’ll be back open as normal tomorrow, Tuesday 1st September from 8am. 👍

A great performance from the lads this morning. After going behind early, the team responded brilliantly, turned the game around and came away with a 3–2 victory over Ashton Town U21s.

Today was a bittersweet day at Rowswood, as Ken hung up his tools for the final time after 3 decades with us.

For those of you who have been coming to Rowswood for a long time, Ken will need no introduction. He’s been such a familiar face around the yard for longer than any of us can remember, and over three decades he’s worked alongside generations of the Rowswood team and got to know countless customers along the way.

It’s difficult to imagine Rowswood without him.

Tomorrow, the workshop will open as usual. The saws will start up, the phones will ring and everyone will get on with their day. But there will be one familiar face missing, and Rowswood won’t feel quite the same.

Ken, thank you for your loyalty, your hard work, and the knowledge and skill you have passed on to countless employees and customers over the years. We hope you know how much you have meant to this place.

Enjoy your retirement Ken, you’ve earned every minute of it.
