🏆 Two Trophies in Two Days 🏆

Last week was one to remember for Team Barrow Electrical.

On Friday 29th May, we were proud to take part in the WYZ Charity 6-a-Side Football Tournament at Rylands, supporting the fantastic work of and helping to raise an incredible £6,780 for young people across our community.

The following day, we returned to Rylands for the Rylands 6-a-Side Tournament, competing against a great group of local businesses. We’re delighted to share that Barrow Electrical were crowned champions at both events, bringing home two trophies in two days.

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part, and to DJH for securing second place in Saturday’s tournament.

Early this month, Daniel Ormesher and Laurence Barrow had the pleasure of attending electrician training with Stuart Gallagher at

We were given a full tour of the facilities, followed by a few words from both of us. Laurence delivered a powerful message, encouraging the learners to never stop believing in themselves, while I spoke about the realities of the industry and the challenges they’ll face stepping into it.

What stood out most was the approach Stuart is taking with training. At TFE, the traditional college model has been flipped on its head, with a much stronger focus on practical work rather than theory. And honestly, that’s exactly what the industry needs.

Giving the lads more hands-on experience prepares them far better for real working environments, and it’s great to see a training provider genuinely investing in the future of our trade.

We’re hoping that Barrow Electrical, along with other electrical contractors, will be able to benefit from the next generation coming through with this level of practical experience.

Big respect to Stuart and the team for the work they’re doing 👏

Last night Daniel Ormesher went to the Inspirational Awards, a room full of dedicated people who make a difference year on year. As much as some received awards, everyone there is a winner.

Barrow Electrical had the pleasure of presenting the Courage Award to an inspirational young girl, Mathilda Wells ✨

The night was hosted by , the staff were brilliant, and the food was incredible!

Last month, it was great to visit the former Unilever site and see the ambitious plans for its transformation into a sustainable data centre and AI Growth Hub.

The site is right next door to our current refurbishment project for Technip Energies, providing a perfect backdrop to this evolving part of Warrington town. Beyond the innovation, there’s a clear commitment to local jobs, skills, and supply chain opportunities, ensuring the region truly benefits from this growth.

Today, Dan paid a visit to Warrington Hospital to deliver Easter eggs for the Dementia Ward and a selection of gifts for the staff.

The gifts were very much appreciated, and it’s a privilege to support the incredible work the Warrington and Halton Hospitals Charity team does to enhance patient experiences and support our local healthcare heroes.

Seeing the difference these small gestures make is what it’s all about. Happy Easter everyone! 🐰🌷

Last Thursday, we proved that community impact outweighs corporate size after being crowned the winner of the High Sheriff’s Award for Excellence in Enterprise 🏆

Laurence Barrow and accepted the prestigious award at a ceremony held at the University of Chester, joined by the High Sheriff of Cheshire, Joëlle Warren MBE DL, Lady Redmond MBE, the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, and her husband, TV producer Phil Redmond. The category recognises businesses that have shown outstanding commercial growth and resilience.

In what many are calling a true “David vs. Goliath” victory, Barrow Electrical emerged triumphant in a field dominated by corporate giants, including those with turnovers exceeding £20 million. This proves that a dedicated, family-run team from Warrington can lead the way in both enterprise and community impact.

The judges’ decision was rooted in Barrow Electrical’s deep commitment to the region.
