Shower tray upgrade carried out a couple of weeks ago but finished today. The customer has a shower cubicle with a gap next to the bath so a new stud wall was erected by the joiner which afforded her to have a bigger tray.

Shower panels were fitted around the shower area and on the reveals to the shower rather than tiles. New spot light added inside the shower area.

The new stud wall was tiled and lucky the customer found the mosaic tiles to match up the break in tiles.

Bathroom we started a couple of weeks ago and got round to completing today for LC ❤️ and Martin Caldwell

The bathroom was tight for room so not much has changed litter then the addition of a concealed 3 way valve that control the rain fall head, shower hose and bath filler. New LVT floor fitted with the addition of a smart basin toilet combination unit. New Upvc ceiling fitted with 4 spot lights rather than a centre light.

The customer picked brush nickel brassware with matching towel rail.

Had to be one of the toughest bathrooms we’ve worked on in recent times. The first picture is how the customer has been living with the bathroom for some time, following a leak the cistern had been removed, the electric shower wasn’t hooked up to water, the bath wasn’t secure…. The whole bathroom needed a complete make over.

The job had been in the diary for 5/6 months to work in with the customer to be there while the job was carried out, a lot of planning as to how the new layout would look. A large shower tray was deemed the best for the customer for easy access. Shower panels the customer choose the herringbone pattern. New Upvc ceiling with spot lights did s fan were installed.

When the shower was working it must’ve been leaking as the floor joists were damaged being repair, two joist had to be cut out and fixed, some flooring had to be replaced before 12mm ply fitted ready for the new flooring.

Like buses not fitted a cylinder for a couple of months and then two in two days.

Today’s work first off swap a leaking unvented cylinder for a new one, the old one was leaking and the pressure had been reduced to near enough nothing.

Second job recharge expansion vessel on a combi boiler, the pressure had gone and the vessel@on on zero charge.

Third job was to swap water heater, luckily it was like for like so the original pipework was able to stay.

Fourth job was to re-seal a shower tray that had@leaking into a kitchen this morning.

Fifth job was to repair a soil stack that had a cracker tee, didn’t expect to swap the elbow but the proper job had to be done so some of the brickwork had to be opened up, new elbow fitted, new tee fitted.

Cylinder upgrade carried out today. The customer has had a new bathroom fitted recently but due to the gravity feed system the new taps and bath floor mounted tap barely gave hot water. Rather than a shower pump being added as the bathroom company suggested I suggested a new unvented cylinder and convert the heating system to pressurised.

The customer agreed and the pressure on the hot water went from 6-7 litres per minute to 14/15 litres per minute, she can now run a bath without it taking hours to fill the bath.

Big shout out to Mason Birchall he’s been with me for 6-7 weeks and is picking plumbing up more each day. I’m not the easiest to work with 😬 but he listens and carry’s out the job to a very good standard.

Another en-suite ticked off at the weekend. Not much was changed as the layout worked perfect for the room. What changed was removing the wet wall panels that had been fitted due to a leak and replaced with a stunning tile finish with a fluted feature wall in the shower.

The main change was the addition of the shelves, there used to be a cupboard in there but the client asked for shelves instead, tile trim wouldn’t have looked good so close together so it was suggested that mitred tile edges would be better… that’s where MP Wall & Floor Tiling and Bailey birchall came in and have don en an amazing job!

A wall hung Duravit basin vanity unit was fitted to give extra storage in the bathroom.

Due to have a tiles floor@the customer also wanted underfloor heating, so a decoupling matt was laid and the electric heating wire laid.

Bathroom refurb carried out a couple of weeks ago.
Shower tray removed and J bath installed. Old basin reused and new wc fitted. New towel rail installed with the pipework be moved into the wall for a neater finish.

The bathroom floor had been screeded sometime ago but the screed came up when the old flooring was removed, so the old floor tiles were removed and a new ply floor fitted ready for the new herringbone floor to be laid on.

The walls were clad with shower panels.

En-suite completed this week in a loft conversion, where there was just a boiler they now have a third bathroom.

Space was tight but the customer wanted the biggest try possible and. decent sized basin. With having to box the boiler in a concealed cistern was suggested to maximise the floor space. The walls were finished off with shower panels.
LVT flooring was added rather than tiles and really works well with the panel colour.

Also a Stuart Turner Limited water mains booster was added as in the past the water pressure at certain times of the day has been poor.

Bathroom completed last week over in Widnes, the space was tight for what the customer ordered but it worked out perfect in the end.

The bath was removed to give a bigger showering area, big glass screen installed. The wall was built in order to hide the soil stack so a concealed cistern was installed which gives a crisp clean look compared to a cistern on show. Wall hung fluted basin fitted.

Electrics to be completed by the customer, niche lights in the shower area and lights under the vanity unit.

Big thanks to MP Wall & Floor Tiling walls were a bit hit and miss and the tiles were odd shaped but he’s turned out a great job.
