From marking out and guide cuts to deeper sawing, breaking out and dust management, every stage matters when preparing space for pipework, drainage, electrical services or floor boxes.

Working in Conwy for Jennings Construction πŸ‘Œ

We were brought in to scrabble a newly built bridge where several joints had high spots ranging from 5mm to 40mm.

Using a specialist scrabbling machine, we ground the areas down to achieve a more even finish and prepare the surface correctly.

Precision chase cutting in Glastonbury πŸ‘Œ

We were brought in to cut chases ready for tracks to be fitted. As the work was indoors, we used our electric LISSMAC floor saw throughout.

Two 15mm x 15mm chases were completed using a 15mm blade. For the larger 40mm x 30mm chase, we used a 5mm blade to make two lines before carefully breaking out the section between them.

The client had travelled over from the Netherlands to complete the job alongside us and was very happy with the finished work.

A tough weekend job in Scotland πŸ’ͺ

We were called to a recycling refinery during a shutdown to drill 107mm and 152mm inspection holes into the hoppers.

The concrete was only 80mm thick, but after years of being baked, it was extremely hard, with some holes taking up to an hour each. The work had to be completed over the weekend while the refinery was shut down, so there was no room for delays.

A challenging emergency job, but the team got it done.

Working for Tanro in Chesterfield πŸ’ͺ

This new-build project involved both trench cutting and cutting out floor boxes through a 190mm thick reinforced concrete floor. The floor boxes measured 3m x 3m, with a 150mm hole drilled in each corner to eliminate the need for overcuts and achieve a clean finish.

We also cut a 25m long, 1m wide trench, making a cut every metre so the client could remove each section using an eye bolt after we had installed a 20mm nugget. The work was carried out using our Husqvarna FS5000 floor saw fitted with a 600mm blade.

Precision makes all the difference on jobs like this πŸ’Ž

We were tasked with cutting out a section in a concrete plank measuring 4m long and 150mm deep, with sides measuring 450mm long.

To avoid overcuts, we drilled the corners before making the cuts. This helps produce a clean finish and reduces the risk of the concrete cracking when it's lifted into place.
