Your roof could be doing more than keeping the rain out!

Thinking about getting solar panels? With electricity being used throughout the day and evening, generating your own power could make a real difference.

Add battery storage and you could use more of the electricity your panels produce, even after sunset. ⚡

Curious what solar could look like for your home?

We're installing solar and battery systems across Hertfordshire & Essex.

A new bathroom light is lovely, but what about the extractor fan? 😅

It's one of those things you don't really think about until the bathroom mirror is constantly steamed up and the room takes ages to dry out after a shower.

Sometimes it's the smaller jobs that make the biggest difference at home.

A new extractor fan, better lighting around the shower, or finally getting that ceiling light fitted properly. Nothing too fancy, just those little improvements you've been meaning to get sorted.

And if you're having work done in the bathroom, it's worth getting some advice on which extractor fan would actually suit the space.

We've been doing this sort of work recently and it's always nice seeing everything come together.

Got a little electrical job at home that's been on your list for ages? Give us a shout. We're happy to help with the smaller jobs too!

Think about how much has changed inside the average home.

Two TVs. Laptops everywhere. Air fryers. Bigger kitchen appliances. Garden offices. EV chargers. Maybe solar and a battery too.

But in some homes, the electrical installation behind the walls has been there for decades.

Does that automatically mean you need a full rewire? No.

But if you're renovating, adding major electrical equipment, constantly relying on extension leads, or you're simply unsure about the condition of an older installation, it's worth getting it properly checked.

Sometimes the answer is a full rewire. Sometimes it's targeted electrical work. The important bit is finding out what your home actually needs before spending money in the wrong places.

Got an EV? Your home charger could be doing more than just charging it.

Plugging in as soon as you get home might be convenient… but when you charge can make a big difference to what you pay.

With the right home charger setup, you can take advantage of scheduled charging and compatible off-peak tariffs, so your car can charge while electricity is cheaper rather than simply starting the moment you plug in.

And the best bit?

You can wake up to a charged car ready for the day, without standing at a public charger or thinking about it every evening. 🙌

Already have an EV but still relying on a 3-pin plug or public chargers? Or thinking about getting your first home charger?

Give JJB Electrical a call and we’ll talk you through your options.

Dark Driveway? Don’t Wait Until Winter to Think About This. 🌙

You know that moment when you get home, step out of the car… and realise you can barely see where you’re walking? 😅

As the evenings get darker, a poorly lit driveway suddenly becomes much more noticeable.

And outdoor lighting doesn’t have to mean one huge, blinding floodlight.

A few well-positioned lights can make a big difference, lighting the driveway, pathway, steps or entrance exactly where you need it. Motion sensors or automatic controls can also mean the lights are ready when you arrive home, without leaving them on all evening.

If you’ve been meaning to sort the lighting outside your home, now’s a good time to do it before the really dark winter evenings arrive.

What would you light first, the driveway, pathway or front door? 👇
