Ever wondered how our skirting boards are made?

Every profile starts with a bespoke cutter. Over 3 generations, we've built one of the UK's most extensive collections of cutters, meaning there's a good chance we already have the profile you're looking for.

If we don't? No problem. We manufacture our own cutters in-house, allowing us to accurately replicate your existing skirting board or create a completely bespoke design.

Once the cutter is fitted to our moulding machine, a simple piece of timber is transformed into a beautifully crafted skirting board, ready for its forever home.

We thought it was about time we shared some projects that reflect how our bespoke mouldings and exceptional joinery combine to create spaces where every detail feels considered and cohesive.

We thought we’d take you behind the scenes of our Chapel Ash project shared yesterday, where we replaced the original curved windows and curved French doors within this beautiful period home.

There is always so much more involved in bespoke joinery than the finished pieces alone.

Before production could even begin, there were multiple site visits, detailed drawings and many hours spent carefully producing complex cutting lists to ensure every curve and proportion remained true to the original architecture.

Each timber was thoughtfully selected before being crosscut, ripped down and planed into square edge sections. From there, CNC programmes were created to shape these technical components with precision, before passing through the hands of several skilled craftspeople within our Midlands-based workshop.

From bench joiners and sprayers to glaziers and site joiners, every stage of the process plays an important role in bringing projects like this together, resulting in bespoke joinery designed to fit seamlessly within the curved facade of the property.

Our client was absolutely delighted with both the finished windows and the service provided, and kindly went on to recommend us to friends, which is always incredibly appreciated.

For our Chapel Ash project, we replaced the original curved windows and curved French doors, carefully replicating the existing architectural details and elegant curved design.​

The brief was to enhance the security and thermal efficiency of the property, whilst still preserving the character and design that made the home so special -something we feel is incredibly important.​

Crafted in our Midlands-based workshop using , these bespoke pieces were designed for longevity and stability.​

Projects like this are a lovely reminder that homes evolve with us. Whether it's a renovation, extension or reworking an existing space, architectural details bring everything together and make a room feel cohesive.

For this project, it was important that the skirting board and architrave in the new boot room/utility and pantry matched the existing profile found in the adjoining kitchen, which is exactly what we do best.

Because we manufacture our own cutters in our Midlands-based workshop, we’re able to accurately replicate virtually any existing profile, making us a trusted choice for homeowners all over the country.
