A few weeks ago, we completed our annual Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) audit — and we’re pleased to say it went really well! We’ve successfully renewed our certification for another year ✅

These audits are made much easier thanks to the systems and processes we have in place, helping everything run smoothly from start to finish.

A big shout out to the Ashby team for keeping everything up to date and audit-ready — it really makes a difference 👏

Store & Logistics Operative

Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Store & Logistics Operative to join our team. In this role, you will help manage stock, coordinate deliveries, and support the smooth running of operations.

This is a great opportunity to build your career in a fast-paced logistics environment and contribute to keeping materials and products moving efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
• Maintain stock levels and organise products effectively
• Handle shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring items are processed accurately and on time
• Plan and track deliveries to ensure timely arrivals
• Support day-to-day warehouse operations
• Assist with improving processes to make work more efficient
• Carry out picking, packing, and general warehouse duties
• Monitor stock and delivery data to spot issues or improvements
• Work with external delivery partners to coordinate shipments
• Keep accurate records of stock and deliveries
• Safely operate a forklift when required (if licensed to do so)
Requirements
• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar role
• Basic understanding of stock control and logistics processes
• Experience with shipping, receiving, and handling goods
• Good organisational skills and ability to work in a busy environment
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to identify and suggest improvements in daily operations
• Forklift licence (preferred, not essential)

🎉 Huge congratulations to Will Harley! 🎉

Will has officially passed his AM2 Assessment with distinction – an outstanding achievement and one we’re incredibly proud of.

Will joined us at Ashby Electrical in August 2024, making the brave decision to change employer midway through his apprenticeship after recognising his previous role wouldn’t fully support his electrical training. Since joining, he’s taken on every challenge with determination, professionalism, and a brilliant attitude.

In under 18 months, Will completed his NVQ and has now gone on to smash his AM2 with flying colours. A fantastic result and a true testament to his commitment, work ethic, and drive to succeed.

Massive well done, Will – let’s get that Gold Card applied for! 🥇⚡

We’re looking for a motivated Level 1 Electrical Improver to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone at the early stages of their electrical career to gain hands-on, site-based experience while working alongside qualified electricians on a variety of projects.

We’re pleased to share the successful completion of the Avanti project, which saw the installation of 139 customer information screens and 235 CCTV cameras across a range of stations and multi-storey car parks.

The project was delivered on time and to a consistently high standard, with both Network Rail and Avanti praising the quality of the installations and overall delivery.

Ashby was contracted by Telent to support surveys and carry out all installation activities. Our teams approached each location with strong technical discipline and attention to detail, ensuring a smooth and well-executed programme from start to finish.

As we continue to support similar programmes across the rail network, and explore new opportunities across multiple sectors, we remain focused on delivering dependable, high-quality installation work our clients can rely on.

We look forward to continuing our work with our partners in 2026.
