Last post from me before I close this page down😀

Life has a funny way of changing your plans.

If you’d asked me a year ago where I’d see myself today, I would have said I’d still be on the tools. Construction has been my life for the last 22 years. It’s all I’ve ever really known, and I’m incredibly proud of everything I’ve built and everyone I’ve worked with along the way.

But sometimes life makes the decision for you.

My neck injury has been one of the toughest challenges I’ve faced. Spending months in and out of work, followed by five weeks off to recover, gave me something I haven’t had in years… time. Time to think, to heal, and to decide what the future should look like.

I could have carried on and hoped my neck would hold out, but deep down I knew that every heavy lift, every awkward job and every long day was bringing me closer to a point where I might not be able to work at all.

So, with a mixture of excitement, nerves and a little sadness, I’ve made one of the biggest decisions of my life.

I’ve officially stepped away from construction.

On Monday, I start a completely new chapter after investing in my own DPD franchise.

It’s a huge leap into the unknown, but one I’m genuinely excited about. I’ll still be working hard, still building something for my family, just in a very different way.

To everyone who has supported my carpentry business over the last 22 years, trusted me with your homes, recommended me to others, or simply encouraged me along the way—thank you. I’ll always be grateful.

Who knows where this new journey will lead? Maybe it’ll be the best decision I’ve ever made, maybe it’ll come with its own challenges. Either way, I’ll give it everything I’ve got.

Here’s to new beginnings, fresh opportunities, and proving that it’s never too late to start again.

💔 After a lot of thought and many difficult conversations, I have made the decision to close Cribarth Carpentry. 🪚

Unfortunately, due to a neck injury that has continued to affect my ability to work, I can no longer carry on doing the job I love. I’ve tried my best to keep going, but there comes a time when you have to listen to your body, and for me, that time is now. 🏥

This business has been a huge part of my life, and making this decision is heartbreaking. 😔 I have always taken pride in my work and in providing the best service possible to my customers. Stepping away is not something I ever wanted to do, but my health has to come first. ❤️

I would like to thank every customer who has supported Cribarth Carpentry over the years. 🙏 Whether you hired me, recommended me, shared my posts, or simply offered words of encouragement, I am truly grateful. Your support has allowed me to do what I love, and I will never forget that. 🧡

Although this chapter is closing, I look back with pride on everything that has been achieved and the people I have met along the way. 🏡🔨

Thank you all for your trust, support, and understanding. It has meant more than you know. ❤️

After a challenging few months, we are finally back 😀

Firstly, I just want to say thank you to everyone for the patience, support, and understanding with the delays and cancellations recently. Things have been a little uncertain, but it’s time to move forward and get back doing what I enjoy most 🔨

Going forward, I’ll be focusing purely on bespoke storage projects from the workshop, with another guy helping me out with the heavier lifting 💪

💢💢 PLEASE READ 💢💢

Unfortunately, after only two days back at work, I’ve ended up aggravating my neck injury again. I genuinely thought I was ready to get back into things, but it’s become clear that I’ve come back too soon and my body just isn’t able to cope with the heavier side of the job at the moment.

Because of this, I need to make a few changes going forward. Until I’ve seen the spine specialist, had further assessment and received the right treatment and recovery plan, I won’t be taking on heavy manual work. This includes lifting and handling worktops, kitchen units, stairs, timbers, sheet materials and anything else that puts significant strain on my neck and spine.

For the time being, I’ll only be able to carry out lighter duties and less physically demanding work where possible. I know this may be inconvenient and it’s definitely not ideal from my side either, especially after trying to get back to normal, but I have to be realistic about the situation now before I end up causing longer-term damage.

It’s frustrating because I take a lot of pride in my work and hate having to put limitations in place, but at this stage my health and recovery need to come first. I’m hoping once I’ve seen the specialist and have a proper treatment plan in place, I’ll have a clearer idea of what the future looks like and what I’ll realistically be able to return to.
