After a very long , arduous search I am extremely pleased to announce that I have now located a supplier for more recycled , rustic redwood boards . These boards were originally used as huge timber crates to import Boeing Aeroplane parts and large medical equipment supplies from America . They have lovely grain patterns when cleaned up and sanded , are wider (approx 11” - 11 1/2”) and much more stable than traditional scaffold boards (approx 9” wide) which are usually used to make rustic furniture . Once sanded , stained and wax oiled they look amazing .
I will shortly be able to offer a bespoke , local service , for most small rustic furniture items ( bench storage seats , shelves with handmade brackets , bookcases , shoe racks , bathroom storage units , small nests of tables , dog beds , small cabinets , coat racks (with shelf storage above if required ) , vivariums , large planters , tv stands / cabinets etc , to name just a few items ! ) ALL PURPOSE MADE TO YOUR SIZES AND REQUIREMENTS .
EVERYTHING I MAKE WILL BE UNIQUE , BESPOKE AND HAND MADE USING GOOD QUALITY , FULLY DRIED , RECYCLED REDWOOD BOARDS AND WHERE POSSIBLE RECYCLED HARDWARE .
THE SERVICE I OFFER WILL BE A BESPOKE , MADE TO ORDER SERVICE , NO ITEMS WILL BE MASS PRODUCED (other than the shelf brackets ) . I WILL ALSO BE OFFERING A DESIGN AND INSTALLATION SERVICE FOR ITEMS SUCH AS BENCH STORAGE SEATS AND EVEN SHELVING ETC .
If anyone has purchased recycled scaffold board furniture / shelves online previously they may be aware of the poor quality of timber which is used in mass production items (twisted , cupped , split etc ) . The timber I will be using will be a much higher quality and much more stable , however it is still recycled .
Should you have any requirements over the next few months please do not hesitate to contact me via this page .
**PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE** Since virtually all my work comes from recommendations and referrals it would be very much appreciated if anyone who reads this post would share it please .
Here are a few examples of items I’ve made over recent years when I had an ample supply of the redwood boards .
