The Plant Drivers page was designed to share thoughts, ideas and share general banta and pictures of your best mate tipping his dumper over perhaps, Yes I do have a business called plant drivers but I am just the same as any other plant driver, I had to give myself a company name to get my UTR number to claim CIS status, I have been in the saddle for almost 40 years off and on, up and down, round
and round, tossing and turning, enough is enough. Right so here is the story to date I haven't got the arse for it any more, I suppose the older end will know what I mean, it's a pain in the but sun, ha ha. Now I want to take a back seat excuse the pun, I thought it would be a good idea to build an electronic Plant Driver's log book and put forward recommendations to replacing the current mostly dysfunctional and costly C.P.C.S. hard back driver log version, Here's what we will call it; Drivers On Line Log Appraisal Resumé (D.O.L.L.A.R.) Good eh in for a pound. So i'm going to tell you my idea and how it will help fellow drivers but more importantly how it will help our employers who are forced to accept whoever turns up from the agency, I was on a site and a driver turned up with just one arm his left one, how the hell was that poor man going to drive or change gear safely, not that I condone agencies but had my electronic logbook version been available the agency would not have sent him on a HSE run site, they sent the poor man home, i would have let him sign wagon delivery tickets or canteen duties, poor sh*te, I wonder who gave him his red card or perhaps blue! the current system clearly isn't working, if anyone can turn up for a dumper ticket, do you now some of them barely speak english, STOP, STOP too late you just ran over a cat or worse eh! Enough I hear you saying get on with the idea. Ok hear are my debatable Aims:

End of week site contracts manager approves hours worked, drivers online log is updated with his total hours driven and a new appraisal, stating who wrote it and for which company he was hierd to. To produce verified, on site printable pictured site authorised ID cards, to help reduce time spent at induction process.
