On this project we replaced a faulty and poorly installed oversized 15kw vaillant arotherm heat pump with a 7kw vaillant arotherm plus.

To improve efficiency and lower running and maintenance costs, we removed the glycol circuit with plate heat exchanger and additional pump. We installed primary pro external pipe insulation. We removed the backup heater. We removed the 4 pipe buffer tank, zone valves and additional pumps. We also removed the underfloor heating mixer and pump at the manifold and made the system open loop and running pure weather compensation. The original SCOP was around 2 and we have a current COP so far this month at 4.2 on heating and 4.0 combined heating and hot water.
