Our clients are the priority and making sure the labour is allocated to those projects first is a must.

HQ progress.

We’ve got paint on the walls and the window opening to my office is formed. Studs are built and they are ready for plasterboard and insulation.

I’ve got 4 boys, a wife, a business, a team, goals I still want to hit and I’m also trying to keep myself fit and healthy along the way.

The older I get, the more I realise success isn’t just about how big you can build the business.

It’s whether you can build it without losing yourself in the process.

I want my lads to see ambition. I want them to see hard work. I want them to see what’s possible when you back yourself and go after something.

But I also want them to remember that I was there.

That’s probably the bit I think about most now.

There’ll always be another target, another job, another bit of growth to chase.

But family, health and time don’t wait for you to “finish building the business”.

Still learning how to get that balance right.

Probably always will be.

Owning an email list is a secret weapon for trade businesses.

Being able to reach out to potential clients with new offers and services when they already know who you are puts you in a strong position for lead generation.

Email lists are massive in all other industries and yet it’s slept on in ours.

Don’t leave money on the table.

As a builder with 4 sons I wanna share the ups, downs and everything In between.

Hopefully one day they will be in business and they will have all of the lessons I had to learn the hard way.

The big one is you don’t get nothing for nothing, every bit of success has a price.

You need to be willing to take the risk and pay the price.

Sometimes that’s financially, others it’s your time often both.

Business is not for everyone and I want to arm them with as much insight, so they start on solid foundations

Creation over consumption.

You can either sit scrolling others doing business or start promoting your own.

Show up for your future clients and give people an insight into who you are, what you are about and the services you offer.

There is also a sick network of trades that you can do business with.

Build an audience and a network or don’t and doom scroll instead.

Don’t underestimate the power of a good community. As we grow are businesses we get more isolated, when you are isolated you keep doing what you have always done.

No growth, no change just plodding on.

And when the inevitable tough times come we don’t have anyone to turn to, nobody for support.

As well as business development we have created a sick community of construction businesses owners who have each others backs.
