This used to be a window… now you’d never know.
The customer wanted this window blocking up to make the kitchen more usable.
• Window sills removed
• Studwork built and secured either either side
•Plasterboard installed either side
• Mesh over the joins to prevent cracking
• Two coat skim finish
I even repaired an existing crack whilst doing the job😉.
Once it’s painted, the wall will look like the window was never there.
Blocking up the window this way instead of bricking/ blocking it up gives you or the customer the option to reveal the window again at a later time, it also reduces costs.
Proper prep = no cracks later.
Would you have kept the window or blocked it up?
