Some entrances have nowhere for a gate to swing to.

This one was the public car park at Arlington Reservoir, where South East Water needed secure vehicle access during set hours and the option to let people in outside them. We fitted a galvanised steel box section cantilever sliding gate, fully automated, with a GSM intercom so access can be granted remotely without anyone needing to be on site.

Cantilever means the gate carries its own weight on rollers set back from the opening, so there is no ground track to clog up with leaves and grit.

This gate installation is close to home, quite literally, as it's just down the road from us here in Uckfield.

The homeowner's existing sliding gate had reached the end of its working life after years of daily use, so we replaced the gate posts, fitted matching brown close board fencing, and re-automated the whole thing using a BFT motor and control panel.

The result is a gate that looks the part and works exactly as it should for years to come.

Not every project is on our doorstep, and this one took us over to Kent for a customer in Sandhurst.

The finished gate combined a curved heel Iroko 5-bar design with freshly sawn oak posts, automated using a FAAC hydraulic operator for smooth day-to-day use. We also fitted a smart WiFi intercom system, controlled through a free app, so the homeowner can let visitors in even when they're out for the day.

Every driveway has its own quirks, and this one had a particularly shallow approach that ruled out a standard swing gate straight away.

Our solution was a sliding gate in Iroko hardwood, running smoothly along a discreet track so it never encroaches on the room needed for vehicles coming and going. We also fitted a matching Iroko pedestrian gate alongside the main entrance, plus an intercom system so both residents and visitors have easy, secure access.
