A look at the material palette for one of our latest residential projects.
A calm, natural palette of warm timber, light brick and slate is balanced against the deeper tones of the red brick retaining walls that define the site.
The light brick bungalow sits quietly within the landscape, with a simple slate roof and generous overhanging eaves. Exposed Douglas fir rafters continue out beneath the eaves, creating a strong connection between the interior and exterior.
Inside, the exposed rafters are paired with woodwool boards, bringing warmth and texture to the ceilings, while exposed red steels introduce a subtle contrast.
The materials are deliberately simple and honest, allowing the character of each material to come through while creating a cohesive connection between the building, interiors and landscape.
More visuals of the project coming soon.
