🚜 Site Operative / Trainee Plant Operator – Halwell, Devon

We’re looking for a hands-on, motivated Site Operative to join our team at Landmarc Environmental Engineering.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to build experience in plant operation, groundworks, and environmental construction.

🔧 What you’ll be doing:
* Working outdoors on a range of site and landscaping projects
* Supporting groundworks, waterscapes & civil engineering works
* Operating excavators & dumpers (if trained)
* Learning welding, mechanical & practical site skills
* Working as part of a close-knit, hardworking team

🎯 What we’re looking for:
* Some practical or site experience (e.g. labouring, landscaping, farming, construction, etc.)
* A good attitude and willingness to learn
* Comfortable working outdoors and being part of a team
* Ideally some plant experience (NPORS Above & Below 10T or equivalent is a bonus but not essential)
* Mechanically minded or practical problem solver
* A genuine interest in conservation, agriculture, and countryside management
* Welding or design interest would be a strong advantage

🎓 Full training provided for the right person, including plant tickets (NPORS where required)

💪 This is a real opportunity to build a career outdoors on meaningful environmental and landscape projects — not a desk job.

A clean-up operation is currently taking place to tidy and stabilise the existing rock armour defences at Beesands Beach.

Beesands is a very dynamic coastal environment and works are being undertaken in line with instructions received.

Please be aware that heavy machinery is be operating on the beach and village green. Take extra care when walking, ensuring you keep a safe distance from the works area. Please keep dogs under close control for everyone’s safety. 🐾

Landmarc Environmental Engineering is currently carrying out works along the Slapton Line in response to rapidly changing coastal conditions.

All work on site is being delivered in line with the explicit instruction of council appointed engineers and specialists. Landmarc is not responsible for decision-making on the scheme; our role is to carry out the agreed works safely and efficiently.

Being local residents ourselves we share the strength of local feeling and concerns of all who care deeply about this historic and precious stretch of coastline. While we are a visible presence on site, we are working as part of a much wider team to support the agreed response in the clean up operation. 🌊
