What an amazing 4 days with in Andalusia (November 2024). The whole experience was amazing - the team are great 👍

First outing of the new leathers big thanks to the RST team for the custom made to measure leathers.

The circuit is pretty technical and I saw great improvements over the 4 days - think a return trip needs to be booked 😁

Thanks to Shooey, Jay and Woody for the encouragement I needed and allowing me to follow them even if it was for a lap.

Time to don the white suit, respirator and safety glasses to investigate the wiring fully in the loft space.

Keep in mind this light circuit has been previously re-wired 😱😱😱😱😱😱 think I should of left the insulation on top of it. All cables should be clipped and supported throughout their entire run, this helps with heat dissipation and prevents unexpected damage. No electrical installation should look or be installed like this!!!!!!

Thankfully due to the amount of modifications required the lighting will be split into a number of new circuits. Let's get 1st fixing.

Been a few busy months with a number of full rewires, part rewires, consumer units changes and EICR's.

Today was a full day wiring under the floor, not all electrical jobs are glamorous. Then again not all super heros wear capes 🤣.

A ring final circuit installed vastly improving the overall coverage and suitability for a modern lifestyle. Also installed a dedicated circuit for the supply fish tank equipment.

Still lots to do to complete this re-wire to meet the customers requirements, along with numerous other installations coming to close.

Me after a few minutes clipping a few cables through the loft in preparation for a new flush mounted consumer unit.

Make sure you keep hydrated and limit the time spent in lofts and underfloor's.

Out with the old and in with the new 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌

Preparation has started on another property full rewire. Today was the first day, where the old wiring was disconnected and a new RCBO consumer unit with integrated SPD (Surge Protection Device) fitted along with a fused isolator ready for the new upcoming electrical installation and loft conversion.

If your property is 40-50 years old, it will possibly require rewiring (unfortunately nothing lasts for ever) or have an EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) carried out to ensure the electrical installation is safe for continued service (better to be safe than sorry - domestic properties should be inspected and tested every 10 years).

Another excellent installation from a bathroom fitter!! When I say excellent I mean diabolical!!!

Non fire rated and non IP rated downlights used in a shallow drop ceiling where the old ceiling was cut into along with a number of joists which are now showing thermal damage from the heat of the GU10 lamps.

This is another example of poor workmanship which puts the property and the occupants in danger of potential fire and electric shock. Lighting circuit will now be re-wire and correct lighting fitted.

When undertaking any renovation work within your properties, please ensure the electrical work is carried out by a registered electrician and a member of a competent person scheme. (Memberships can be checked online)

Something isn't quite right here🤔

Anyone have a guess what this might of been feeding? This was installed in 2007 and has been a potential death trap till today!

Having an EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) carried out will ensure your electrical system, property and you are safe. It is recommended that an EICR is carried out within a domestic property every 10 years and it's now Law for all domestic rented properties to have an EICR every 5 years.
