🔧 Solar Installation Roofer / Joiner Wanted — FCR Electrical Ltd

Due to some recent contract wins, FCR Electrical is looking for an experienced roofer or joiner to join us on a subcontract basis, helping fit solar panel mounting rails and roof work — including both standard on-roof and in-roof solar installations — across our growing solar installation projects.

The role:

Installing roof rails, panel mounting systems, and in-roof solar systems for domestic and commercial solar installs
Working alongside our electrical teams on solar projects across the region
A mix of local work (Blackpool/Fylde Coast) and away work further afield — some overnight stays will be required, overnight allowance and additional uplift paid

What we're looking for:

Roofing or joinery background, comfortable working at height
Previous solar panel/rail installation experience is a bonus, but not essential — we'll get you up to speed
Reliable, tidy, and happy working as part of a team
Own standard hand and power tools required

What we provide:

Transport to and from jobs
Steady, growing workload with regular solar installs booked in

Second fix is underway at our Didsbury project this week and it's unlike anything we've installed before. This isn't just solar panels on a roof — this is a complete whole-home energy system that can power the property entirely off-grid if the national grid goes down. 🏠⚡

What we're installing at this Didsbury home:

☀️ 16kWp solar panel array — one of the largest residential installations we've completed
🔋 Twin AlphaESS 8kW inverters — dual inverter configuration for maximum power output and redundancy
🔋 2 x 10kWh AlphaESS batteries — 20kWh of total battery storage capacity
🌡️ Heat pump system — fully integrated with the solar and battery for whole-home heating
⚡ Full domestic rewire — second fix underway this week, 18th Edition certified throughout

The feature that makes this system truly exceptional — Island Mode

If the national grid goes down this home doesn't lose power. The AlphaESS twin inverter system can switch into island mode — disconnecting from the grid and powering the entire property directly from the battery bank. Lighting, heating, hot water, appliances — all running independently from 20kWh of stored solar energy while the neighbours are in the dark.

This is energy independence at its most complete. The system generates its own electricity, stores it in a 20kWh battery bank, heats the home through the heat pump and can sustain the property through a grid outage entirely from its own resources.

This installation represents FCR Electrical's Gold tier specification — twin AlphaESS 8kW hybrid inverters paired with dual 10kWh battery modules and a 16kWp solar array.
