🏚️ DILAPIDATIONS PROJECT COMPLETE | STONEGATE, YORK 🏚️

Another project successfully delivered by the team back in June — this time carrying out a full programme of dilapidation and renovation works to a former jewellery shop on the historic Stonegate in York. 🔨🏛️

We were brought in with a clear brief: strip the property back, address the issues properly and get it fully renovated, tested and ready — all within a demanding two-week programme.

Our scope of works included:

⚡ Full electrical testing
🔥 Gas safety checks & certification
🚿 Plumbing checks & certification
🔨 Full strip-out and removal of redundant fixtures and fittings
🧱 Investigation and remedial works to damp-affected internal walls
🎨 Full internal preparation and redecoration
🪵 Existing timber floors professionally sanded and oiled
✨ New vinyl flooring installed to the rear ground-floor area
🧹 Full clean-down and completion ready for handover

With just two weeks from start to finish, it took a real team effort to get this one over the line to the standard we expect.

A special mention and huge thank you to Ross McAndrew and Tim O'Hanlon , who stepped in to help us with the decorating works. Despite their own busy schedules, they gave up their evenings and worked after hours to help us meet the deadline. That support was massively appreciated. 👏🎨

Most importantly, a huge well done to the Barlow Construction team. 💪 The lads worked incredibly hard, coordinated multiple trades and pushed the programme forward without compromising on the quality of the finished job.

From a tired commercial property requiring significant attention to a clean, refreshed and fully renovated space in just two weeks. ✅

🏡 NEW PROJECT | SESSAY 🚧

We’re delighted to be back in Sessay for our second project with the fantastic Paul & Natasha! 🙌

This time, we’re taking on a substantial transformation involving the removal of two existing extensions, making way for a brand-new double-storey and single-storey extension, alongside extensive renovation works and landscaping. 🔨🏡🌿

Its very early days down there, as we’re only a few days into the project, but the team are already making great progress. 💪

A huge part of what makes projects like this enjoyable is the relationship we build with our clients. Paul & Natasha have once again been absolutely brilliant to work with — and they’ve already developed quite the reputation for keeping the team well supplied with snacks and refreshments! 😂☕🍫

It’s safe to say they’re quickly becoming firm favourites with the Barlow Construction team! ❤️

We’re incredibly grateful for the continued trust Paul & Natasha have placed in us by bringing us back for a second project, and it’s a real reflection of the great relationship we built during the first one.

🏡 Model Farm, Thirsk — New Project Underway! 🔨

We’re excited to share a few early progress pictures from our latest project at Model Farm in Thirsk! 🚧👷‍♂️

We’ve got a fantastic project ahead of us for our lovely clients Zilla & Harry, involving:

🏗️ Garage extension
🔨 Full renovation of the existing garage
🏡 Renovation works to the main house
✨ Bringing everything together to create a home that works beautifully for our clients.

We’re still in the early stages, but there’s already plenty happening on site and we wanted to give you an updated look at the progress so far. 📸
