We had the best time yesterday at our beginner's needle felting workshops. Lovely peeps learning new skills from our oober talented local maker Christine Sanderson of Hullabaloo and creating wonderful pieces - just lovely! We also launched our new Norfolk Horn needle felting kits and packs of fleece, which we will now be selling in the shop 🥰

Ever wondered how fleece becomes yarn? 🐑

At Thetford Open Studios, you'll be able to get a little closer to one of our oldest textile skills.

Christine Sanderson of Hullabaloo will be with us throughout the five days, with her spinning wheel – and there'll be a chance to have a go at spinning yourself.

Then on Saturday 19 September, we're making a little more of it...

Christine will be joined by fellow spinners, with more wheels in action, fleece to discover and a tabletop loom too.

Whether you simply want to watch, ask questions or try your hand at the wheel, come and discover how fibre becomes yarn.

I have had my sewing machine out for some bits and bobs that needed a stich or two when I saw a photo of a Japanese knot bag. I decided to make a couple as I had some nice remnants of fabric. I must say, I am very pleased with how they have turned out and they are very comfortable to wear on your wrist.
