Back to Chichester last week to hang the 6m wide anthracite aluminium gates.
We built the brick piers back in May and gates finally arrived a few weeks ago.
3.5m x 9m concrete slab ready for the greenhouse.
Black limestone edgings along the bed and a new path with stepping stones.

We finished this project last week after taking over from another contractor that had absolutely no idea what they were doing.
How anyone can walk away and leave a garden in the state they did is beyond me.
The standard of workmanship was shocking and so much of what was constructed was so dangerous especially in a family garden.

Here’s just a few of the issues
-
Decking - 30 sq m of decking supported on just three posts concreted in and the rest just resting on bits of bricks / offcuts of wood stacked together.
Frame held together with single screws and not even in contact with another with up to 10mm gaps.

The steps had a couple of posts at the bottom and then the remaining just resting on the backfill of mud they’d hidden under the framework.

The patio had a fall of up to 1cm in 20 cm towards the house at dpm level and into an aco drainage channel that ran nowhere.

2.5 tonnes of waste just dumped over the back wall and under the deck.

This is just a fraction of what we uncovered and replaced.

I hope our clients can move on and enjoy the rest of the year with the new garden now complete and safe.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted. We’ve been working on several projects and dealing with months of extreme heat.
We’re still waiting a couple more weeks to lay the new lawn on the full landscape in Wantage but I’m really excited to get some finished photos as this really is special.

Another project which is now complete is a secondary entrance in to a farm in Newbury. This is ready for a new project on site which I’ll link to when this is open and live.

All completed now on this 9m x 5m garden room in Highclere.
Our client will be sending us some internal pictures once painting is compelled and furnished.
Plus some photos at night with the lighting.

On to our next projects -
50 sq m sandstone patio in Thatcham and a full landscaped garden in Wantage.

Part way through our latest project.
We started earlier in the year removing approx 70/80 tonnes to level an area, building sleeper retaining walls and prepping for the concrete slabs.
After receiving the details of the ex demonstration garden room due to be built we were asked to cost up a bespoke similar design / layout and given the go ahead.
We’re now well underway on the build.

We’ve just completed our latest build of this retaining wall in High Wycombe.
The scope was to regain a further 2.5-3m of garden back from the slope to extend the garden.
The wall is 1.75m - 2.25m in height and around 30m overall.
Steels sunk in 1.8m of concrete every 1.3m.
Drainage at the base of the wall to release water build up and damp proofed behind befit backfill.
200+ tonnes shifted in this one in muck away and materials.
