Hoping for some rain the rest of the week!!
Taking bookings for Autumn feeds and restorations! Does your lawn need some TLC?
Is my lawn dead now it’s this lovely shade of brown?
This is the questions I get asked the most right now. The short answer is it depends!
The brown colour is the grass’s own self protection survival mode called dormancy.
Once we get a few weeks of rain we should see colour return. Some weaker areas may have died off - a simple way to tell is to tug on the roots, if they hold strong everything is normal but if they pull out then the root system has died.
Even a healthy lawn might have some patches that get pushed over the edge and die. This is where either spot treatment of overseeding is needed or for lawns that haven’t been scarified in some time, a full restoration to refresh the lawn and give it a new lease of life.
