We have just started a new blog series called ‘The project queries series’ to help those thinking about a house project know what to expect and where to begin, walking you through the process from start to finish.

The first in the series is “Do I even need an architect?” a fair question, and our honest answer is it depends on the project. For a straightforward repair or a small internal change, you may not need an architect at all and we’d always rather tell you that than take on work you don’t need. But for most extensions, renovations, conversions and new builds, having an architect involved tends to make a meaningful difference to the result.

The full blog explains when an architect would be needed and the value we’d bring to a project. Read it here: https://leaparchitects.co.uk/do-we-really-need-an-architect/

Redecorating a space?
You might have decided on a colour but the next decision is choosing the right paint finish for the room.

Not all paint finishes are the same. The finish affects durability, cleanability, and how colour looks in your space:

Flat / Matt: Soft, velvety, hides imperfections. Perfect for ceilings & low-traffic walls.
Eggshell: Low sheen, subtle glow. Great for bedrooms, living rooms, dining areas.
Satin: Gentle sheen, durable, washable. Ideal for hallways, kitchens, bathrooms.
Semi-Gloss / Gloss: High shine, easy to clean, highlights details. Best for doors, trims, cabinets, and wet areas.

Premium pigments + the right finish = long-lasting, beautiful interiors.

For a more detailed guide to understanding paint finishes to help you pick the right one for each area, read our blog here: interiors.https://https://lnkd.in/emjyGDjR

Top tip: Dark colours pop in gloss finishes; matt softens and mutes shades. Mix finishes for interest, such as semi-gloss trim with matt walls. Always test before committing!
