In this contemporary garden, elements for entertainment, socialising, relaxation and surprise were designed to create the feeling of a luxury hotel resort.

A large kitchen island where people can gather and eat al fresco is the heart of the garden, connecting to the interior kitchen seamlessly.

The floor under a covered seating area slides to one side to reveal a sunken spa, where guests can relax and recharge, surrounded by lush textured planting.

As this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show approaches, we’re looking back on our award-winning 2025 Sanctuary Garden, created for .

The garden was designed as a place of retreat and connection, but its story didn’t end when the show closed. We carefully transported every plant from our display and replanted them in the front garden at our design studio.

Today, they are thriving in their new home – a living reminder of a memorable project and a testament to creating gardens with a lasting legacy. We look forward to showing you how they’ve settled in next week.

Doorway into a secret garden.
A naturalistic steppingstone path leads you through lush green planting to create a transitional space from one area to the next. The calming atmosphere and use of ferns, shading perennials and moss between the stones was inspired by transitional Japanese garden design. The idea behind this key view was to frame a ‘living picture’ that looks beautiful when viewed from inside, but one you can also step into.

Creating an urban garden design starts with the right layers. Tree ferns, structured evergreens and swathes of movement-rich grasses come together to soften the boundaries and wrap this garden in greenery - a calm escape, moments from city life.

At the heart of the The Grove, sits a mature acer, its sculptural form and vivid seasonal colour anchoring the landscape design.

Beneath the canopy, a shallow water bowl reflects movement, light and texture - a focal point that shifts with the seasons.

This moment creates balance within the garden, drawing the eye inward before leading it back out to the woodland edge.

A woodland inspired cocoon.
Within this circular garden seating area, a copse of Betula utilis ‘Jacquemontii’ (West Himalayan birch) brings seclusion, their slender white trunks enclosing the space while offering dappled shade. Designed for quiet moments of connection, the setting evokes shinrin-yoku - or forest bathing - the Japanese practice of slowing down, engaging the senses, and immersing in nature.

Surrounded by tranquil Cotswolds countryside, the landscape design at Rosewood Manor balances structure with softness, blending formal planting with naturalistic areas for family life and wellbeing.

At the entrance, yew domes and wisteria create a welcoming sense of arrival, while warm-toned gravel and planting complement the Cotswolds stone of the house.

To the rear, a courtyard-style terrace connects seamlessly with the interior, its layered planting and refined paving details adding texture, colour and a sense of craftsmanship.
