At Bishop’s Hall, the garden is designed as an external floorplan for family life, blending the feel of a luxury hotel with the warmth of a country home.

The vibrant centrepiece is the pool garden, conceived as a series of connected moments: dining with family in the covered pavilion, sociable cooking in the outdoor kitchen, relaxing in the wellness spaces and gathering around the firepit as evening draws in.

New drystone walls, built using traditional methods, ensure every modern element feels completely at home, creating a landscape designed not just to be seen, but to be lived in.

What happens to a garden after the RHS Chelsea Flower Show?

For us, the story isn’t over. We believe gardens should have a lasting legacy, so this is the next chapter for our award-winning Sanctuary Garden. After the show, the plants were carefully relocated from the showground to our studio in Thame.

It’s a joy to see them thriving here, creating a living piece of Chelsea right at our own front door!

Not only has our team, guests and clients benefitted from the transformation, but also our local community, with many residents on our street, passersby and surrounding wildlife coming to pay a visit.

More than a sequence of spaces, Bishop’s Hall is a landscape of experiences.

From poolside entertaining to the sanctuary of its wellness area, every part of the design has a distinct purpose and atmosphere. The flow between them is intuitive, creating a setting that feels both expansive and personal.

This animated tour reveals the guiding philosophy behind the project: creating a timeless backdrop for family life, where a lifetime of memories will be made. We are looking forward to sharing the finished photographs soon!

In this contemporary garden, elements for entertainment, socialising, relaxation and surprise were designed to create the feeling of a luxury hotel resort.

A large kitchen island where people can gather and eat al fresco is the heart of the garden, connecting to the interior kitchen seamlessly.

The floor under a covered seating area slides to one side to reveal a sunken spa, where guests can relax and recharge, surrounded by lush textured planting.

As this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show approaches, we’re looking back on our award-winning 2025 Sanctuary Garden, created for .

The garden was designed as a place of retreat and connection, but its story didn’t end when the show closed. We carefully transported every plant from our display and replanted them in the front garden at our design studio.

Today, they are thriving in their new home – a living reminder of a memorable project and a testament to creating gardens with a lasting legacy. We look forward to showing you how they’ve settled in next week.

Doorway into a secret garden.
A naturalistic steppingstone path leads you through lush green planting to create a transitional space from one area to the next. The calming atmosphere and use of ferns, shading perennials and moss between the stones was inspired by transitional Japanese garden design. The idea behind this key view was to frame a ‘living picture’ that looks beautiful when viewed from inside, but one you can also step into.
