Non destructive entry to an upgraded L4V security lock. A number of other Locksmiths had turned this job down. Never one to turn away from a challenge 💪🏻🔓

A challenging job was completed this week. To meet all requirements, some parts had to be modified to work and align with the existing setup. This was a listed property, so there wasn't any room for major alterations, narrowing down the options we had. Nevertheless, I found a way.

I was contacted recently for a lock replacement; the customer required new keys.
This was for a door in a Priory that dates back to 1125. Although the door in question was not the original, we decided to keep the original lock to save having to make any alterations. The lock was a Union Horizontal sashlock, which was part of a range that contained the 'Butter's System,' first produced in 1955. This is now an obsolete lock that I couldn't find any information on, let alone replacement parts. After a bit of a cleanup, the levers (more like detainers) were reordered, and four new keys were provided, hopefully preserving a certain part of the long history of this stunning building.

Non destructive opening of this Supra C500.
The customer was not provided with the code when taking on the property.

Another replacement of a standard mortice sashlock with a more modern euro lock and handles to suit.
