🔥 SMOKELESS COAL DOESN’T MEAN A CLEAN CHIMNEY! 🔥
There’s a common misconception that because you’re burning smokeless coal, your chimney stays clean. Unfortunately, that’s simply not the case!
🚨 Here’s what can happen when you burn smokeless fuel:
🧱 Soot and deposits: Smokeless fuels can still produce deposits and combustion residues that build up inside your chimney and flue.
💧 Condensation and corrosion: Some fuels can contribute to corrosive deposits and moisture problems, particularly if the appliance or flue is operating at low temperatures.
🖤 Tar-like deposits: Depending on the fuel, appliance and burning conditions, deposits can accumulate on the flue walls, potentially restricting the passage of gases.
🔥 Chimney fire risk: Deposits can contribute to dangerous chimney conditions. If combustible deposits accumulate, they can ignite under the right conditions.
⚠️ Poor performance: A dirty or obstructed chimney can affect the draw of your appliance and increase the risk of dangerous fumes entering your home.
✅ THE BOTTOM LINE
Smokeless fuel does NOT mean maintenance free!
Always burn the correct fuel for your appliance, follow the manufacturer’s instructions and have your chimney swept regularly by a competent professional. Never assume your chimney is clean just because you cannot see smoke coming out of the chimney pot.
At Simply Stoves & Property Services, we believe prevention is always better than cure. Looking after your chimney is just as important as looking after your stove.
📣 Don’t wait until there’s a problem. Keep your chimney clean, safe and working as it should!
