Keeping Children Safe Around Electricity ⚡

Children are naturally curious, and everyday electrical items can sometimes pose hidden risks around the home.

A few simple precautions can help keep little ones safe:

🔌 Keep unused sockets covered where appropriate and teach children not to play with plugs or cables.
📱 Store chargers and electrical devices out of reach when not in use.
💧 Keep electrical items away from water, especially in kitchens, bathrooms and outdoor play areas.
🔍 Regularly check plugs, leads and extension cables for signs of wear or damage.
🚫 Avoid trailing cables that could be pulled, tripped over or chewed by pets.

It’s also a great opportunity to teach children about electrical safety from an early age, helping them understand that electricity should always be treated with care.

A few minutes spent checking your home today could help prevent accidents tomorrow.
