Hi Everyone

The customer contacted me because her dog and scratched the seat pad, I always ask my enquiries to send me picture's but sadly even looking at picture's it's had to tell so I arranged to have a look in person.

On inspection we noticed it had worn away a clear finish to the chair which that helps protect the colour and the colour helps protect the leather, once the clear finish wears away you will find it gets dirtier quicker.

When we returned on the day she was booked in for she asked about cleaning the the rest sofa and applying cream which helps to protect the clear finish.

Coloured sofa's like this when cleaning them you need a dedicated cleaner and a dedicated condition.

So many people I'm finding are cleaning the furniture with baby wipes, or leather wipes. There is others but these are the 2 I can think about.

- The leather wipes will only be pushing the dirt around instead of removing the dirt.
- Some baby wipes have have alcohol in the which will most definitely remove tje clear coat along with some colour.

Hi Everyone

We've had the pleasure of working with another lovely couple in restoring there sofa.

They brought this sofa in an auction but sadly when it was in transit they lost a cushion the middle cushion to which i had to make it blind only using the measurements for the inner of the sofa. When we returned all the pads and restored the colour back to how it should look they was over the moon.

Customer's ask me all the time "do you enjoy what you do" that is a definite yes, changing something that some people would bin to something in Customer's words
" it looks lome new"

Hi Everyone

Here is a job we've done recently for a lovely gentleman who had some damage on the seated section of his sofa as you can see in the before picture.

When we first visited we managed to find a swatch to get a colour match.

This sofa's colour isn't one colour as you can see in the after it's what we call in the industry a two tone, which has a lighter colour underneath and then a darker ontop similar what to how Chesterfields are.

Yet again we're leaving another job with a very happy gentleman who thought his sofa would need scrapping and now he's got his sofa back for many more years to come.

Hi everyone

Here is a sofa we've had the pleasure working on it, the customer wanted it to match her chair.

There are risks when changing colours which we don't advise normally as leather is a skin which stretches over time so if your changing colours you could potentially start seeing the other colour coming through, on this case the lovely customer new this but the sofa doesn't get used so she was happy knowing this to want the work done.

Like every leather job the most important part is the cleaning first, we was lucky enough the customer removed to top section of her footstool so we could get the colour she wanted so we did the pads in the workshop and then returned them and finished the frame.

She was over the moon with it when it was all done she even said
"It looks like a new sofa"
This is why i love what we do and making my customers happy again instead of having the stress of find a new sofa.

Hi Everyone

We've had the pleasure of having these two old ladies in our workshop last week out of a classic Mercedes car.

The customer got intouch with us as he wanted them restored but to not look like new and as jared is so passionate about cars he loved these two.

Once vacuumed with then proceeded to clean them which showed the underneath colour which was a brighter blue bit once we spoke to the customer he wanted it back to the original colour which you can see in the pictures.

Once all cleaned we then start to tape of areas that need to be covered so no colour gets on them, we then prepare it all ready for the colour.

While I get them ready jared reads the colour which is how we get 99% match match. All our colour restoration jobs have there own unique codes which we keep on file.

It was truly a pleasure of working on these 2 and for a lovely customer who even travelled about 2 hours to bring them to us.

Hi everyone

Here is some pictures we done recently, I know the base of the sofa looks slightly different and I'll be doing another post to explain why this is.

On this job we had the pleasure of meeting a lovely couple who had an issue with there sofa loosing colour, when we went to have a look we noticed that the colour had rubbed off over the high sections ( there's are normally along folds of stitch lines) this is extremely common as its the sections that wear the quickest because of how e sit on the sofa and wiggle around so its always going to wear quicker which is why we always say how important it is to maintain a good leather cleaner along with a good leather protector.

Some people think there leather furnishings need feeding yes in some leathers it is the case but coloured ones like this job need a protector to help maintain the clear coat which we applied at the end which is less than paper thin so if you can protect your sofa with a cream once its been cleaned you'll then help to maintain your sofa completely.

If you unsure on what you should use to clean and protect your sofa then please ask I'm more than happy to help as sofa these days aren't cheap and the stress of even looking for a new one is bad enough.

I just want to say a huge thank you from myself and Jared for all your support you've given Shropshire Leather Care, your not just helping and support my business but your also helping my confidence grow as a business women and for that i cannot say thank you enough.

Hi everyone

Here is a before and after of a job we've done recently.

Our lovely couple brought us the back cushions and the arm cushions so we could do them in the workshop like you can see they we're easy enough to remove and the base pads were fixed.

In the workshop we soon noticed there was a colour difference on some of the pads which was due to sunlight damage, once i had cleaned them we got a colour reading which is where we are able to match a colour which is custom made to every job we do then once ready for the colour we start applying it and getting them ready to return you can see the colour difference in one of the pictures below.

Hi Everyone

Here is a job we've done recently for a lovely couple.

They have 2 stressless chairs along with 2 footstools the customer dropped the footstools off to the workshop where we was able to get a colour reading and got them ready to be returned.

On the day a customer booked in to get the chairs done the first thing we do is make sure we respect there home and sheet up and then we made a start which the first thing we do is the clean and prepare and then we can carry out repairs if need and this one did.

Over the years the main area's that start to fail are any high points in some cases this can be along stitch area's.

Once we paired the hole which you can see in one of the pictures we then build up the colour till it all looks lovely once again.

Hi everyone

Here is a before and after on a job we've done recentl.

It was truly a pleasure helping this lovely couple being there sofa back to life and in there words "looks like new".

We see this problem alot with coloured leather siutes. There are a few layers which ontop of the leather itsself which are the colour and the a clear layer which is the most important one because when that breaks down like you can see in the before then dirt can then ingrain more which then makes it hard for you to remove.

On this job we started off cleaning it which we also start with and then prepared for the colour which we custom make for every customer then apley multiple layers and only once we're really happy with it we then apley the clear coat which protects the colour.
