Due to continued growth and the release of new plots across our existing and new developments, Prestige Brickwork is looking for experienced bricklaying gangs for immediate starts at the following locations:

📍 Wolverhampton

📍 Shrewsbury

✅ Requirements:

• Experienced and reliable bricklaying gangs

• Working knowledge of NHBC regulations

• Valid CSCS cards

This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term, ongoing work with a well-established contractor.

Another busy month in August at Prestige! 👷‍♂️

It’s been a month of progress, teamwork and exciting developments across the business.

We’ve loved seeing our apprentice Joe continuing to build his skills on site, laying bricks and growing in confidence with every project. 👏

Alongside the brickwork, our team has been putting the same care into site preparation, protecting newly laid tarmac and driveway areas to help keep every development clean, organised and finished to our usual high standards.

We’ve also enjoyed some well-earned time together, with members of the office team heading out for brunch and catching up away from the usual working day. 🥂

And, most excitingly, we’ve announced the expansion of Prestige Jetting! This means greater availability to support more commercial, residential and industrial sites across the Midlands.

As the temperatures continue to stay high, workplace heat safety is something that needs to be taken seriously, particularly across industries where teams spend much of their working day outdoors.

Guidance highlighted in the recent HHS Newsletter reminds employers that, while there is no legal maximum workplace temperature in the UK, they still have a responsibility to provide a reasonable working environment.

Across Prestige Brickwork, Prestige Jetting and Prestige Scaffold, we make sure heat-related risks are considered as part of keeping our teams safe, including:

☀️ Following the “11am Rule” – where possible, scheduling physically demanding work outside the 11am–3pm period when temperatures and UV levels are at their highest.
💧 Promoting hydration – ensuring access to drinking water and encouraging our teams to stay properly hydrated throughout the working day.
🌡️ Reducing heat exposure – considering how and where work is carried out to minimise unnecessary exposure to excessive heat.
🏢 Assessing higher-risk areas – paying particular attention to poorly ventilated spaces, areas where heat can build up and locations where additional cooling measures may be required.

Whether we’re working on a brickwork project, carrying out specialist jet washing or providing scaffolding services, the health, safety and wellbeing of our people remains a priority.

In his new role, James will be supporting the team with day-to-day operations, coordinating with customers and on-site managers, supporting ordering and helping to identify new opportunities as we continue to grow.

James is looking forward to meeting new and existing customers, building strong relationships and taking on new challenges as part of the Prestige team.

Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his family, watching and playing football with his son, getting outdoors with his two sausage dogs, running and tackling the challenge of the Manchester Marathon next year! He’s also busy renovating the family home.
