Why are more homes adding battery storage?🤔

Because generating your own electricity is one thing, but being able to store it and use it later gives you even more flexibility over your home energy.

Paired with solar panels, battery storage can help you:
☀️ Make more use of the electricity your panels generate
🔋 Store excess solar energy for later
🌙 Use stored energy when your panels aren't generating
⚡ Reduce how much electricity you need to buy from the grid

From the daytime sunshine to the evening rush, it's about making your energy work harder for your home.

Forget ghosts, ghouls, and all things that go bump in the night ... there are a few things we find much scarier!😱

🕷An unexpected energy bill
🕸️An EV sitting at 5% charge
🎃A solar fault being ignored
👻Not making the most of the solar energy you generate
😱 Still thinking solar doesn't work in British weather

Solar panels generate electricity from daylight, not heat, meaning they can continue generating throughout the year - even when the British weather is doing what it does best.

With battery storage, you can store excess solar energy generated during the day to use later, when you need it.

Blue skies and another solar installation complete! ✅

A recent project from the Craig Michael Renewables team, making great use of the available roof space with solar panels fitted across multiple roof areas.

Every property is different, which is why the right solar set-up starts with assessing the available space and finding a solution that works for the individual home.

And we certainly can't complain about the weather for this one.

Shorter days doesn't mean your solar system stops working. 🍁

As we move further into autumn, there may be fewer daylight hours, but your solar panels can still generate electricity during the day.

If your system generates more electricity than your home needs at that moment, battery storage can save that excess energy for you to use later - particularly useful when you're using more electricity in the evenings.

Solar and battery storage work together to help you make more of the electricity you generate, whatever the season.

“Nothing, and we mean nothing, was too much trouble.”

What a fantastic review to receive from Valerie following her recent solar installation!

After talking through the different options with Craig, Valerie chose an xSig system featuring 9 x 490W panels, two Sigen batteries and an 8kW inverter - with the team completing the installation in just one day.

From that initial conversation through to the finished system, we aim to make the whole process straightforward for our customers.

A huge thank you to Valerie for choosing Craig Michael Renewables and for taking the time to leave such a brilliant recommendation.

Solar panels generate it. Battery storage saves it. Your home uses it.

Solar panels and battery storage can work brilliantly together to help you make more of the renewable electricity generated at home.

Here’s how it works:

☀️ Your solar panels generate electricity during daylight hours.

🏡 Your home uses that electricity first to help power your everyday appliances and devices.

🔋 If you generate more than you’re using, excess electricity can be stored in your battery rather than needing to be used immediately.

🌙 When your panels aren’t generating enough, such as later in the evening, your home can draw from the energy stored in your battery.

The result? You can use more of the renewable electricity you generate yourself and reduce how much electricity you need to buy from the grid.

FAQ: What happens to solar when the days get shorter? 🍂☀️

The short answer: Your solar panels keep generating electricity - just less of it.

Solar panels use daylight, not heat, to generate electricity. So even on cooler, cloudy autumn and winter days, your system can still produce energy.

As daylight hours become shorter and the sun sits lower in the sky, your overall generation will naturally decrease compared with the brighter summer months.

That's also where battery storage can help you use more of the energy your system generates by storing excess electricity for later use.

Less daylight doesn't mean no solar.

Your system is designed to generate throughout the seasons, with output naturally changing across the year. Visit our website to learn more: https://zurl.co/Lqwgd

Not every roof is straightforward - and your solar system shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all. ☀️

Different roof shapes, angles and available spaces can all influence how a solar system is designed.

This recent installation is a great example of how panels can be carefully positioned around a property's shape to make effective use of available roof space while achieving a clean, considered finish.

It’s why every installation starts with understanding the individual property and designing a solution around it.

Think your roof might be too awkward for solar? Don’t rule it out.

Your home’s energy needs don’t stay the same all day… so why should your energy setup?

From the morning rush to the evening wind-down, the amount of electricity your household uses can change significantly throughout the day.

☕ 7 AM: Kettle on, showers running, and everyone getting ready for the day.

☀️ 1 PM: Your solar panels could be generating renewable electricity while household demand is lower.

🍽️ 7 PM: Dinner is cooking, lights are on, devices are charging, and your EV might be plugged in.

That’s where combining solar panels with battery storage can make a real difference. You can store excess solar energy generated during the day and use it later, when your household needs it.

☀️ Generate it.
🔋 Store it.
🏡 Use it when you need it.

Smarter home energy that works around your day.
