A lot has moved on since our last update at Holly Cottage.
The SWIP internal wall insulation system, plasterboarding and plastering are now complete upstairs, with bathroom panelling currently underway. On the ground floor, the existing floor has been insulated and screeded, with overlay boards and underfloor heating pipework now installed.
The staircase frame is in, the external drainage has been completed, and the lime render to the front elevation is finished.
Flooring has also started this week, with distressed engineered oak being installed upstairs, waterproof oak in the bathroom, and slate flagstones downstairs to tie in with the existing kitchen floor.
The next stage will see the slate window sills fitted, flooring and staircase works completed, followed by skirtings and architraves ready for decorating. We’ll then move on to the bathroom installations, second-fix electrics and completion of the air source heat pump system.
With the insulation upgrades and SWIP system now incorporated throughout the property, the new air source heat pump should also deliver a much more efficient home and significant long-term savings for the client.
It’s great to see Holly Cottage moving firmly into the finishing stages after such extensive structural, roofing and internal works.
