An existing customer had their roof replaced. Unfortunately in the process the flue for the gas fire was removed without informing my customer. This was obviously extremely dangerous.

Another roofing firm visited (to correct the faults on the roof the first firm left) and they advised the customer to change the fire completely.

Luckily she contacted me and I was able to fit new flue components and set her up all ready for the winter.

Spending a day servicing boilers I’ve fitted today. Always nice to revisit installs and catch up with customers.

When I fit a boiler I consider it as at least a 20 year commitment to the customer to maintain the boiler and system.

An existing customer contacted me on Saturday reporting water coming through the ceiling. I popped out and found the unvented cylinder to be leaking.

I shuffled some jobs around and replaced the cylinder today with a new Ideal cylinder with 25 year warranty.

Thanks to James Peters Metal Recycling Limited for helping me carry the old cylinder down the stairs.

Stopped a customer’s radiators coming on by hitting the right part of the system with a hammer. Thanks to Dad for teaching me the old tricks. No charge to the customer

Whilst servicing this boiler today I noticed water stains on the bottom of the case. On removing the tile above the boiler I found this dripping drain off.

If this wasn’t repaired it would have caused a hole in the case and required a replacement boiler.

Just shows the importance of an annual boiler service.

Replaced a very long standing customers central heating clock today with one Dad had saved “just in case”. The alternative was an expensive overhaul of the complete system.

44 years old and working fine.
