It’s all part of the job, but after a week like this, we’re definitely ready for a fresh start.

🌳 🪵TPO Oak Tree Reduction Completed!
Another challenging job taken on by the team! This impressive TPO-protected oak tree had grown extensively and spread across 6 gardens, making this a sizeable reduction with plenty of surrounding areas to consider.
The tree had a lot of understory buildings, sheds, plants and other garden features directly underneath and around it, so protecting everything was a big priority.
With very little room for error, a fair amount of the timber and larger limbs had to be carefully rigged down rather than simply dropped, allowing us to safely control every piece and avoid damaging the sheds, plants and surrounding gardens.
Once the reduction was completed, there was the small matter of 6 gardens to tidy up!

A challenging job requiring careful planning, precise rigging and plenty of teamwork — but another one completed safely and professionally, with all 6 gardens left clean and tidy. 🪵🌳

🌳🪵🚨This week we were called out to an ash tree after a large stem unexpectedly snapped out.
What made this one particularly concerning was that the tree showed no obvious external signs of Ash Dieback, yet it had suffered a major structural failure. Thankfully, no one was injured, but it highlights how unpredictable affected ash trees can be.
Trees don't always show clear warning signs before they become hazardous, especially when they're close to public spaces, roads, homes, or footpaths.
Our team safely dismantled the damaged tree, leaving the site safe and tidy for everyone nearby.

🌳🪵we returned this week to complete the safe removal of a damaged oak tree in a challenging location.

🌳🚨🪵Another call out this evening in churchinford after a significant branch failure caused by summer branch drop.
The large limb came down across the road and BT lines creating an immediate hazard and blocking access. Thankfully, the area was quickly made safe and cleared and no one was hurt!
With temperatures remaining high, we're continuing to see trees shedding heavy limbs as a response to heat stress. Always take care around mature trees during periods of extreme heat🪵🚨🌳

🌳🪵🚨Last week, our team responded to an urgent call-out after a substantial limb from a mature oak tree failed and landed on school grounds.
Fortunately, the incident occurred outside of busy school hours and no one was injured. Our team attended promptly to make the area safe and carry out the necessary remedial work.
Following a detailed assessment, it was determined that the tree has suffered a significant wound as a result of the failure. Due to the extent of the damage, combined with the tree's proximity to neighbouring houses and overhead power lines, the difficult decision has been made that the tree will now need to be removed to mitigate future risk.
As temperatures rise, trees can sometimes experience what's known as summer branch drop—the unexpected failure of large limbs, often from otherwise healthy-looking trees. While the exact causes aren't fully understood, factors such as prolonged heat, drought stress, and limb loading are thought to contribute to these failures.

Large mature trees can be valuable assets, but regular inspections are essential, particularly where they are located near buildings, roads, schools, or utilities.
