A nice 2 metre crown reduction on this big old oak. The tree has a Tree Preservation Order so we were limited in the amount that could come off. A big tree and a small drop zone with no cherry picker access, made this job challenging but also highly rewarding for the team, knowing this should prosper for many years to come.

Another week another conifer take down this time in tadley. These spruce were super tall and skinny, and being between two houses in a less than ideal location, the decision was taken to remove. Being so tall and skinny, with the only drop zone being a patio, everything had to be rigged down in a slow controlled manner. The job was completed safely with no damage to patio, fence or either house. 100% of the waste was recycled, being used for biomass in power stations.

First conifer fell of the year in Berkshire. These 3 conifers were getting too big for the space available to them, and as they'd been badly "topped" in the past the decision was made to remove. A nice end to the week for us re pollarding these big willows, and removing the snapped limbs that had split out under their weight. Pollarding is an ancient technique that helps control the size and shape of a tree, and should be done every few years. This will allow more light into the house and garden, and should mean these stand for many more years.

It's a sad day for us here at Witham Tree Services. We've cared for this old apple tree for many years since we started trading, it's owner being one of our original customers and we've manged its steady decline ever since. But unfortunately as its condition was worsening and children play close by the decision was made to fell. We hate felling a tree unnecessarily but as you can tell from the condition of the stump it was the right call.

Another end to the week another big conifer job successfully completed. This hedge had been left unmanaged for years, and was about 30foot tall. A 30% reduction brought it back into line. All waste was recycled with all wood chip used by the local allotments, and all logs were used for biomass.
