Two small rose paintings that I have on the go. Both are the Bart’s Rose-bred to celebrate St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. I trained as a nurse there in the 1980’s so it is a special subject for me! They start as compact buds that open into huge and dramatic blooms

Day 31 I made it!! 31 days of painting or drawing from life. Some days I really loved, others were just hard work. I'm glad I did it for the constant practice but I'm also going to enjoy my weekend! These are the trees that we look onto from the front of our house. An amazing view, I've wanted to try and paint them for a while. In the warm and keeping comfortable! Church meadow trees, watercolour.

Day 28 freesias (which I had four attempts at before deciding to call it a day with the final version 🥴😂😂 ) I found them incredibly hard, funny that with the last one I ditched trying to draw them and it worked the best. Hoping for better success tomorrow.

Day 25 well I was down at coate water again today but was too late for the lovely sunshine and too early for quite a dramatic sunset! It’s quite hard capturing a grey landscape I found 🥴 Met lots of nice people who were interested and encouraged me to stick with it. Winter trees from the back of Syd’s copse 8x10

Day 23 I am very fortunate (and excited!) to have a new studio in our garden to work in. Over the past few weeks I’ve been decorating it and today I was able to try and paint the view. A christening! On gessoed card approx 8in square
