TRUE STORY - PLEASE SHARE

This week while working for an elderly customer in his 80's, he showed me his Thames Water Bill for April 2026 to March 2027 £992.00!

I checked his footpath, out of curiosity, and I found a water meter had been installed. His bill was for estimated usage without the water meter.

He called Thames Water after me nagging him! (we know older people don't like to question things, they just pay the bill) and he agreed for me to speak to them on his behalf.

Thames Water were brilliant, his meter was installed in June 2025, they have sent him emails periodically to ask if the customer would like to switch to the meter.

Unfortunately my customer has forgotten how to use email so he never received them. I have requested everything be posted in future.

The outcome is, my customer is getting a rebate of £450.00, by cheque as they are old school. Only a landline, no Internet and they send cheques for bills.

Please check with friends, family and neighbours, especially people in the trade, ask customers. If this post helps one other person save money that would be fantastic.
