Every home has one. The corner nobody quite knows what to do with. 👀

Here's where last week's job started: a bare alcove beside the chimney breast, squeezed between the window and the TV. Plain wall, skirting board, and not much else.

The resident cat had already claimed the window sill and the hammock above it, so this was the last bit of the room left unclaimed. Chris had other ideas for it.

So, what do you think it became?
A) A built-in desk and home office nook
B) Fitted cupboards with display shelving
C) A cat climbing wall (the cat's vote 🐾)
D) A floor-to-ceiling bookcase

New project alert 🏡🔨, an old bungalow getting a full renovation.

Every renovation starts somewhere, and for this one it's stud walls going up and a new doorway being cut through. It might not look like much yet, but this is where the transformation really begins — reshaping the layout to work better for how the space will actually be used.

This is going to be a project with plenty of stages, and we'll be sharing the journey as it happens — from the structural work through to the finished rooms.

From one metal leg to this 🎶...the finished bespoke music desk.

This is what happens when a build is designed around exactly how it's going to be used.

The desk was custom-built to house a full studio setup, main workstation, monitor stand, keyboard, and a second surface built specifically for extra synths and controllers, all shaped to make the most of an awkward corner space.

Solid wood, hand-finished, and built to fit the room and the gear perfectly, not the other way around. See the full build in the photo below from start to finish.

This lounge just got a serious upgrade 🛋️

Sometimes the smaller projects make the biggest difference. This wood panelling transformation has completely changed the feel of the room — adding warmth, texture, and a real sense of craftsmanship to what was a plain wall.

It's a great example of how bespoke joinery doesn't always mean big furniture pieces, sometimes it's the details built into a room itself that make a house feel like home, watch to the end 👀) to see the full transformation.

The bespoke (all will be revealed) is starting to take shape 👀

From rough boards to a real piece of furniture, this build is well underway. The main worktop has been glued and clamped to get that perfect solid surface, and the legs are now taking shape on the bench.

Every stage of this is being done by hand, with the same care and attention to detail that goes into every piece I make. There's still a way to go, but it's already looking like something special.

We'll keep sharing the journey as it comes together, you won't want to miss the finished piece.

One leg down... any guesses what I’m building? 🤔🔨

This isn't just any piece of metal, it's the first component of something completely bespoke that Chris has been working on. Precision-cut, carefully finished, and built to carry a lot more than just weight once the full design comes together.

We're not giving away what it is just yet, but we will say this: it's for someone who takes their craft seriously, and it's going to look incredible once it's finished.
