One of the best bits of business advice I’ve heard in a long time.

Know your numbers.

It’s so easy to think you’ve had a good month because you’re busy and money is coming in. But if you don’t know exactly what it costs to run your business, you could be working flat out for little profit… or even making a loss without realising it.

Turnover isn’t profit.

Being busy doesn’t always mean you’re successful.

Every business has overheads, hidden costs, tax, insurance, tools, vehicles, training, materials and so much more. If you don’t account for all of that, you’re simply paying yourself a wage while taking all the risk.

This video is a reminder that knowing your numbers isn’t just for big companies—it’s something every self-employed person and business owner should understand.

Reality:
✔️ Finish on the tools.
✔️ Go back to the office.
✔️ Spend hours doing quotes, invoices, certificates and paperwork. 😭

What an incredible project to be a part of. ❤️

A few months ago I was lucky enough to be involved in The Ada Project alongside an amazing team of trades, suppliers, volunteers and businesses who all came together to make something truly special happen for Ada and her family.

Seeing everyone donate their time, skills and materials to transform this garden in just a few days was something I’ll never forget. It wasn’t just about building a garden – it was about giving a family a space they could enjoy together and showing what can be achieved when a community pulls together.

I’m proud that Inman’s Electricals Ltd could play a small part in such an incredible project.

The documentary has now been released, and I would encourage everyone to give it a watch. Ada’s story is inspiring, emotional and a reminder that even the smallest contribution can make a huge difference.

A massive well done to everyone involved and a huge thank you to Wilson Landscapes Ltd for making it all happen.

Chasing out walls has got to be one of the most soul-destroying jobs in the trade.

Hours of noise, dust everywhere, arms hanging off, and enough black muck up your nose to last a month.

The customer sees a few neat lines in the wall…
