Yes, it’s gross. But this is what can come out of a heating system during a powerflush. 🤢

The water circulating through your system should look much more like tap water than this.

Around 80% of boiler breakdowns are caused by dirt and sludge building up within the heating system. Over time, that build-up can cause cold spots, poor circulation and noisy operation, as well as placing extra strain on your boiler.

This customer had been without both for nearly a week. Thankfully, our team was called in and carried out an emergency boiler upgrade to get everything safely back up and running.

Out with the old, in with the efficient 🔧

This older Ideal system boiler and unvented cylinder have done their job... but they're now making way for a much more efficient combi boiler.

Replacing the two-part system with a modern combi will free up valuable cupboard space as well as giving the customer a more efficient heating and hot water system.

A nice example of how upgrading an older boiler can be about more than simply replacing one box with another – we look at the existing system, the space available and what will work best for your home!

This softening system was looking decidedly worse for wear and due a refresh – and it’s now back looking smart and working as it should.

We take gas safety seriously.

This week, while carrying out a routine boiler service, our team identified a gas leak in a customer’s home.

We were able to make the system safe, replace the faulty parts and retest everything, helping to give the customer peace of mind.

It’s a timely reminder of why anyone carrying out gas work in your home must be Gas Safe registered. Registration confirms that an engineer is legally registered and appropriately qualified for the gas work they undertake. Someone working without the proper registration is working illegally and could be putting your home at risk.

Our tip? Always ask to see the engineer’s Gas Safe ID when they arrive. Genuine engineers (like our team!) will always be happy for you to check. You can also check any business at GasSafeRegister.co.uk

It’s Gas Safety Week, and Team Priory is supporting this year’s message: Take No Chances.

Gas safety doesn’t need to feel complicated. Two simple checks can make a real difference:

🔥 Have your gas appliances checked each year by a qualified Gas Safe registered engineer.

🚨 Fit an audible carbon monoxide alarm and test it regularly.

Carbon monoxide has no smell, taste or colour, so an alarm is an important line of defence for your household.
