Garage door weather seal upgrade completed in a 3-hour session 🔧

On this visit I fitted proper garage door floor seals along the bottom of the customer’s automatic roller garage doors — the black seals with the yellow safety stripe through the middle 👍

The old strips had been fitted previously, but they were more like internal metal edging and weren’t really designed for this type of garage door setup.

So I removed the old strips and installed the correct garage weather seals instead.

This helps with:

✅ Reducing draughts
✅ Helping keep rain and debris out
✅ Improving the seal at the bottom of the door
✅ Making the garage look cleaner and more professional

I also serviced one of the automatic roller doors because it was squeaking — sometimes they just need the right lubrication and adjustment to keep everything running smoothly 👌

This was actually my second visit to this customer. On the first visit, they asked me about the garage doors, I advised what would work best, and then they booked me back in to get it sorted properly.

That’s what I like to do — give practical advice, use the right materials, and get the job done properly.

Changing bathroom light bulbs today 💡😂

Sounds simple… until you realise the last person had painted the fittings in 😅

What should have been a quick bulb change turned into a careful little rescue mission to free the fittings without damaging the ceiling or surrounding paintwork.

Bathroom lights need to be handled properly because they’re usually enclosed, moisture-rated fittings — and if they’ve been painted over, forced or damaged, it can quickly turn into a bigger problem.

All sorted in the end 👍

Another productive handyman visit completed 🔧🚐

Today’s job included: ✅ Replacing a kitchen tap
✅ Carrying out grout repairs/making good for the customer 👍

The tap replacement took around 1 hour 45 minutes due to the awkward access underneath the sink — which is pretty normal with kitchen taps 😅

While I was there, I also worked through some grouting repairs to help freshen everything up and get things looking nice again 👌

That’s the advantage of booking handyman time — once the main job is completed, we can often move straight onto the next item on the list 👍
