This one was a 3036 rewireable fuseboard — and yes, they’re still out there! 😳

Time for it to go. 🗑️

Ripped out and replaced with a modern consumer unit featuring:

Bathroom Extractor Done Right 💨⚡

A properly installed extractor fan is essential for removing moisture and humid air from the bathroom, helping to reduce condensation, damp and the potential for mould.

Another Samsung air conditioning installation completed by Unite Electrical Limited, with this system designed specifically around how the client will use their home.

We’ve installed a Samsung 5kW two-port multi-split outdoor unit, connected to:

🔹 5kW indoor unit serving the lounge/living area
🔹 2.5kW indoor unit serving a bedroom

At first glance, you may wonder why the indoor units have a combined capacity greater than the outdoor unit.

That’s intentional.

The system has been designed around the expected usage of the property. The bedroom will primarily be used overnight, while the larger 5kW unit will be used predominantly during the day to provide cooling and heating to the main living space.

The 5kW indoor unit provides substantial capacity for the ground floor, while the system’s intelligent control allows the available outdoor capacity to be shared between the indoor units if both are operating at the same time.

This approach avoids unnecessarily installing a larger outdoor unit simply to accommodate the maximum theoretical combined capacity of the indoor units.

Unite Electrical Ltd | Air Conditioning Installations

⚡ A dedicated electrical supply for your air-conditioning system matters.

Too often, I’m seeing air-conditioning condensers installed from a switched fused spur. Whilst this can be acceptable in certain circumstances — particularly where installing a dedicated circuit isn’t economical or reasonably practicable — it’s important to consider what the manufacturer actually specifies.

Manufacturers’ installation instructions will often explicitly state that the outdoor condenser should be supplied from a dedicated electrical circuit.

Why? Because the condenser doesn’t simply power itself. Through the interconnecting cables, it can also supply the indoor units, condensate pumps and other associated controls and ancillaries. The electrical demand and starting characteristics therefore need to be properly considered.

At Unite Electrical Ltd, we’re not just an F-Gas registered air-conditioning company — we are first and foremost electrical contractors, registered under a Competent Person Scheme.

That means when we install air conditioning, you get the benefit of an electrician who understands the electrical installation as well as the refrigeration side.

Where a dedicated circuit is required, we can design and install it correctly, including:

⚡ Dedicated supplies to condensers
⚡ Appropriate cable sizing and protective devices
⚡ RCBO/RCD protection where required
⚡ Consumer unit modifications where necessary
